Be inspired by learning Sheena's story

Sheena first joined ACP Group over 7 years ago, after losing her husband from a long-term illness. At her time of arrival she was suffering from severe anxiety and depression and attended our art and craft sessions to help her cope during this difficult period in her life.

In the group she befriended women that have experienced some trauma in their life and built a strong bond with Narbda (left in the picture), both were keen to develop their skills in art therapy to help others in a similar situation.

After getting involved in key activities through our Getting Close to Nature Programme and participating in art sessions, both were confident in leading the art sessions and have extended their skills across different art forms. Sheena is now developing her skills in jewellery making and confident in sharing her skills with her peers.

Their journey has not been easy and there are days when they feel the pain, but use their passion of art and its healing powers to support others that are going through a difficult period in their life.
