You will be able to: Speak clearly to be heard and understood in simple exchanges Make requests and ask questions to obtain specific information Speak and listen in simple exchanges and everyday contexts Recognise some common words, signs and symbols Identify letters of the alphabets Read and understand a simple text about a familiar topic or experience Use written words and phrases to record or present information Write a simple sentence with correct punctuation Spell words important to you, like your address and family names Write the letters of the alphabet using upper and lower case Pre - requirements for course entry This course is for adult (19+) speakers whose home language is not English and who need to develop their English language skills in order to live and work in the UK. The course is FREE to those that have lived in the UK for over 3 years. Learning Environment Prior to course entrance you will be assessed to determine whether this level is suitable for you. Each learner has an individual learning plan negotiated with the tutor that highlights the skills you need to develop and record your progress On the course you will be: Working on your own and with other group members You will receive ongoing support from your tutor Conversations. role plays, discussions, watching videos, audio clips and educational resources.
